Just wanted to show the new box. Cool huh? I’m pretty sure that’s floating dna strands. But I won’t swear to it, Tic Tac Toe X’s are equally likely.
You can follow this link to pre-order it from the BBC Shop (nope I don’t get a percentage this is just an fyi)
Here’s a summary of the transcript of an old interview birthday boy Wil did for the BBC. Also in on the interview was his Babyfather co-star
Don Gilet. For the more visually oriented, here is a link to the video of the interview. (you’ll need the free real audio player to view the video) The video runs about 30 minutes, Wil doesn’t arrive until midway through but Don in his pre 55 Degrees North (The Night Detective) days has some interesting things to say.
It’s Wil Johnson Day (week) otherwise known to Waking the Dead fans as Detective Inspector Spence Jordan.
A new installment of Remembrance in the Fan Fiction Showcase. Dive right in and ease the pain of missing Waking the Dead until its return later this year.
While you are there be sure and read all the Waking the Dead Fan Fiction today in the Fan Fiction Showcase .
Wil Johnson aka (affectionately known as) Spencer Jordan Day is April 18th. So we have about a week to decide what we want to do. More than likely we’ll do the usual but it would be three shades of awesome if someone came up with something a little unusual. Give it some thought. I’m going to see if I can make the random quotes all be Spence quotes, fortunately, Spence has some good ones.
I’m slowly adding quotes for the quote of the day. If you have a specific quote you want to make sure I include let me know. You can add a comment to this post with the quote or send me an email. Right now I have it setup for a one person quote but since there are a bunch of lines out there where you need both sides of the conversation, I may expand it later.
WELCOME one and all to THATBOARDTHINGEE.com’s brand new homepage (yes I do have a short attention span)
There will be a few kinks in the hose as I get things settled in the coming days and weeks but so far I’m pretty pleased with how I spent my weekend.
Important Notes The home page uses a wordpress blog system. If you don’t know what that is, don’t worry. The tricky part is that you can leave comments to whatever I write here. You means anyone - not just TBT members. The systems won’t be linked for that reason. Okay that wasn’t the tricky part, the tricky part is making sure that people don’t have to keep logging in and out when they move throughout the site. It’s a kink and unless it can sing Lola, we’ll iron it out eventually.
Some links may not work at times. To get back to the main page click on the ThatBoardThingee logo at the top of the page.
Cheers.
I promised more about Leslie Boyd as played by Harry Welles but really the only thing to say is . . .
APRIL FOOLS!
Ah yes it’s true the story of Peter Boyd having an older brother ex-cop is all just a product of my imagination. It was all just to showcase good ole “Harry Welles.” Incidentally, I chose the name Harry Welles because of Harry Houdini, illusionist and Orson Welles who pulled the best hoax ever with the War of the Worlds radio broadcast. Hels got it right when she said I was playing Dr. Frankenstein or at least putting together a Mr. Potato Head.

Mr. Welles is none other than Peter Boyd’s face, Grace’s hair, Spencer’s eyes, Frankie’s nose and Mel’s lips. The hardest part was blending Frankie’s nose. I took the liberty of trimming back a few hairs to expose his ear but other than that he’s sporting a Grace do. I should have spent more time on the eyes because Harry is looking like a bit of a drag queen. Granted having to go around with Mel’s curvy lips did not help his cause. I named him Leslie because he’s more or less Boyd
The story just kind of came to me as I tried to make something fit with the picture. Definitely needed to be someone who fell on hard times. I wanted it to be something plausible and so I’m really glad people found it interesting. Perhaps one day I’ll tell you the twists that I had included but then I realized that no preview would give away so much information. Elizabeth Magie invented the Monopoly game. Morgan Rogers is a nod to smuggling on the docks, Captain Morgan and the ship the Jolly Rogers.
I tried to put a lot of disclaimers on the page so people would know something was up but if anyone was fooled, what can I say, be careful of things you read on April Fool’s Day.
