Who is this mysterious Luke Boyd person who popped up in the seventh series opener of Waking the Dead? I have a sneaking suspicion that he supposed to be Peter Boyd’s long lost son. The problem is that Boyd’s long lost is named Joe. Could Joe or possibly Luke be a nickname? Did someone just not bother to watch the early episodes? Is this a different son or relation? What happened to Joe’s mother?

Here’s a quick and easy way to find the name of any guest character who has appeared on any episode of Waking the Dead. Actually, there are a couple of ways Visit the Evidence Room where you can search for a guest or character name. You can also scroll through a complete cast list of Waking the Dead guest stars or when you visit any episode summary page, you can see a list of character and actor names for that episode. Also in the Evidence Room you can find information about the character the actor portrayed and many times a photo as well.

What Happened and Why in Cold Fusion. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know this aired over a year ago and I’m just now posting this. These things happen, or sometimes don’t.

Here’s the real question of the hour - why was this episode name Cold Fusion? I know nothing about nuclear physics, but as best as I can tell, the thingee about cold fusion is that you are able to get hydrogen atoms to get real real close to one another (fusion) while near room temperature (cold). When hydrogen atoms collide, whoa baby watch out. Basically, without expending a lot of energy, you create a lot of energy. The other thingee about cold fusion is that it is prudent to include the word “theoretical” in any discussion about this energy source.

Some possibilities: Cold case, cold fusion. The original murder victims were anti-nuke protestors . Volatile situations develop out of ordinary occurrences.

In any event, this was a first rate episode and that’s not theoretical.
